Happy Day

My Beautiful daughter is 1 year old today....it has offically been the fastest year of my life so far. Time does fly when you have fun.  Happy Birthday Maile!

Religion can be such a funny thing. People die for it, are killed for it, ridiculed, praised etc...  I was a full time missionary for my church for 2  years and 24/7 during that 2 years. I Loved it.  I never pressed what I believed on anyone, nor have I since then. When I knocked on doors it was an offer  that I made, when someone said no, we left.  It was that simple.  There are so many people out there that want to "help" Mormons, and its sad...because they don't really want to "help". People would  have notebooks full of  "anti-mormon lit" and they would seek us out to try to destroy what we believed.  I have been told I am going to hell, and that it didn't matter that I believed in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, simply because I am Mormon. I have had the parents of  several of the girls that I dated in the past, tell their daughters they could not date me because they (the girl ) might go to hell for dating me.  Now, most of you know me pretty well.   Apparently the whole "ye shall  know them by their fruits" doesn't apply to Mormons. It doesn't matter that I didn't participate in most worldly activities (drinking/drugs/sex..etc..) or that I tried all the time to live what I believed.  I'm Mormon, and because of this NOTHING else matters to some people. That is extremely sad and the most un-christian like attitude that I have ever come accross. I have even had people have the audacity to tell me that I am not a chrisitan because I am a Mormon. They say its because "you believe in a different Jesus".  Well, I wasn't aware there was more than one Savior.  But in thinking, don't all different denominations believe a little differently?  If all christians believe in the same Jesus, why is there not a unity of the faith like Paul talked about?  It would seem that if we as christians were so united there would not be 231032473298 flavors of christianity but one, "one faith, one Lord, one baptism". I have many friends that are not Mormons that are awesome people and they are good christians and I for one believe that we in fact worship the very same God and that in the next life, as my Mom so very well put it, " I believe we will be pleasantly supprised". I do.  I think that everyone will be pleasantly supprised.  I believe that the Savior will leave no stone unturned in helping us to be where He is.  Just my 2 cents.
